Shelly Durham
Houston Texas family and divorce attorney Shelly Durham has been licensed by the State Bar of Texas since 1998 and is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She earned a juris doctorate from the University of Houston Law Center, where she served on the Houston Law Review as Notes and Comments Editor. She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of arts from the University of Houston.
Following law school, Shelly worked for eight years as an Associate at Houston law firm Zimmerman, Axelrad, Meyer, Stern & Wise, P.C. She has operated her own Houston family law practice since May 2006.
Shelly also practices collaborative law, is a member of the Board of the Collaborative Law Section of the Houston Bar Association, and is a trained mediator. She believes that when all parties work together, disputes can often be resolved amicably, even in cases when emotions run high, which is often the case in family law matters. She has been trained in collaborative law and has completed basic and advanced family law mediation training at the University of Houston Law Center's A. A. White Dispute Resolution Center.
